Automatic Train Protection System APAS0408
A NEW AUTOMATIC TRAIN PROTECTION SYSTEM TO SATISFY FUTURE EUROPEAN RAILWAY SAFETY DEMANDS
- Modules are connected via sub rack with each other and locomotive peripherals.
- Two locomotive magnets LLC0512 (one on each side of the locomotive) are used to pick up the signal from the track with existing INDUSI system. All data from INDUSI system collects and transfers to EVC (European vital computer) trough STM COM module for processing. EVC (or APAS 0408; optional) controls stoppage according to track conditions, driver’s responses and signalization.
- On rail tracks equipped with ETCS system, depending whether they are with Eurobalise (level 1) or with GSM-R (GSM for Railway) (level 2 and 3), automatic train control becomes more sophisticated, greater speeds are possible to obtain with higher safety standards and reliability. Communication between the driver and the train control system is achieved by DMI (Driver Machine Interface) using multifunctional display for screening all relevant data that are necessary for operating the train. Speed is supervised by odometers and dopler radars so greater precision, reliability and redundancy could be obtained. The block diagram of the system is given in the Brochure.
